JO Parents,

In anticipation of the Oak Grove boys BB team playing in one of the night games on Monday night, we will be moving our practice time for the 16's & 18's from Monday night to Sunday afternoon after the team pictures at the Oak Grove elementary.

The rules clinic @ Cheney Middle School is from 12:00 - 1:30pm and we will meet after that at the Oak Grove elementary school to hand out the uniforms and warm-ups that were ordered and then take group team pictures.  I am anticipating that we will be done with this by around 2:30ish and the 16's and 18's will practice till no later than 5:00pm.

I know the girls will want to support the boys on Monday, but we definitely can't afford to miss any more practices as our first tournament is coming up very quickly.  This seemed to be the best alternative.

As always, please let your coach know of any conflicts with this.

Parents,

Our 18s coach, Lisa Leiran, has informed the Board that she had a once in a lifetime working opportunity that she just couldn't refuse.  Of course we are very happy for her and wished her only the best.

Based on this situation, however, it meant we had a vacancy for our 18s coach.  After careful consideration and conversations with our coaching staff and board, we are pleased to announce our coaches will now be aligned as follows:

• Derek Scott - will assume the 18s coaching position
• Jessica Holaday - will move to the 16s
• Katie Nichelson - has agreed to coach the 14s
• Jim Crabill - remains the 12s coach

This information is being shared with those girls who are able to attend practice this evening - it takes effect immediately.  As additional information becomes available it will either be sent out via email <if time sensitive> and/or placed in the Announcements section of our website.

We are looking forward to a terrific JO season!

A couple of points of clarification regarding the forms being requested below:

1. You do NOT need to include a check for $35 for the NCR fee as that was included in your registration which you previously remitted
2. Where it asks for a team name, go ahead and leave that blank

Thanks for reviewing and processing the forms mentioned below, and for those who have students on the North Campus, if they could deliver those forms to Miriam Vogel no later than Wednesday morning, November 25 it would be appreciated as I will be retrieving them early that afternoon.

Oak Grove JO Volleyball Club Board of Directors Dan Martinson, President Jim Crabill, Vice President Todd Osmundson, Treasurer Carol McDonald, Secretary Sandy Carlson Staci Roller Dear Oak Grove Volleyball Player and Parents, Now that the regular school volleyball season has concluded I would like to have each of you think about getting your JO paperwork handled while volleyball is still fresh in your minds.  You basically have four forms to fill out and all four are available on our website (www.OakGroveJOV.com) under the Handbook/Forms section.  The four forms are as follows: Player Code & Rules Signoff Form NCR Individual Membership Form - Please remember to sign both spots on bottom of form Player Medical Release Form NCR Letter of Commitment Please read through these forms carefully so we don't have to try and track you down for additional information.  These forms allow us to enroll with NCR for the upcoming year and are mandatory for all players.  Once completed, please return to the office at Oak Grove or give to any of the board members listed above.  We would like these forms completed and turned in by Wednesday November 25, 2009. I would encourage those of you who may be new to our program to print and read through our Handbook.  This will give you some insight into what our program is all about and the rules we expect our coaches, players and parents to follow to make for a successful season. Dear Oak Grove Players and Parents,

Our registrations are in for the 2010 season and the Board of Directors has reviewed the make-up of registrants and has determined that based on the numbers we will not need to have try-outs this year for any of our teams.

2010 OG-JOV Roster

We have limited our teams to 9 or 10 girls as our handbook states, but this year we will have one alternate on our 16's team.  We will allow all the girls to be on the team with the coach to make the determination of who will be playing in the next tournament based on attendance, effort, attitude and position need.  We felt this was our best option instead of having to cut one girl.  We also had the experience of having alternates last year on one of our 14's teams which allowed three girls to practice and play in tournaments that they would not have been able to do if they had been cut.  All three of these girls are on a team this year.  We as a Board will always try to look at the situation and come up with what we feel is the best option for all the girls involved and believe in this situation it is our best option.

Please note that in order for us to properly prepare for the upcoming year with coaches, facilities and supplies, we are asking that you turn in your form by our October 19, 2009 Deadline.  Any forms received after this deadline will be accepted only if we have space available. If you have any questions about our program you may ask any of the Board Members listed above and/or may look at our Handbook for 2010 which explains how our program works and what our expectations for our Players, Coaches and Parents are.  I encourage everyone to please read through this document before signing up. We will be having try-outs based on ages on November 1st and 8th at the South Campus.  We will have more information on this once we have collected all the sign up forms.
